Show up on the map when locals search
Most local searches end at the map results, not at a website. This is a proper one-off sort-out of your Google Business Profile, so people nearby find you and pick you.

Where locals actually look
Search for any trade near you and watch what loads first.
Google shows a map with three businesses before any website, and plenty of people ring one of those three without scrolling further. If your profile is missing, half filled in or under the wrong category, that call goes to a competitor, however good your site is.
The profile is free, which is exactly why most get five minutes of attention and no more.
What gets fixed
A full pass over the whole profile, not just the phone number.
- The right categories, primary and secondary, so Google knows what you do
- Services and products listed out one by one
- Real photos of your work, put where Google looks for them
- A first round of posts, so the profile stops looking abandoned
- Questions and answers seeded with what customers actually ask
- Opening hours kept honest, including bank holidays
Help getting verified
Before any of this shows publicly, Google has to believe the business is real. That now usually means filming a video walkthrough on your phone, and the requirements are vague enough that rejections are common.
I have had a video rejected too
My own verification video was turned down before it was accepted, so I know what Google wants to see. I cannot force their hand, but I can tell you what to film and stay with it through resubmission until the profile is live.
Keeping it alive
A profile that last posted a year ago reads like a business that might have closed. The setup leaves you a simple weekly routine: a photo from a job, a short post, a reply to each review.
Regular posts done for you are an add-on, quoted for how often you want them. On the £79 a month plan the profile is looked after as part of the SEO campaign.
Common questions
- I already have a profile. Why am I not showing up?
- Usually the categories, the coverage area or a long silence. Categories tell Google which searches you belong in, the coverage area tells it where, and activity tells it you still exist. The setup starts with an audit, so the fix targets whichever is holding yours back.
- How does verification work?
- Google wants proof the business is real before the profile goes public. For most small businesses that means a short video filmed on your phone: your premises or van, your tools, something with the name on it. Rejections are common but fixable. I tell you what to film and help you resubmit.
- I work from home. Can I still be listed?
- Yes. Google calls this a service-area business: you list the towns you cover rather than an address customers visit, and your home address stays hidden from the public profile. It is the normal setup for tradespeople and anyone who travels to the customer.
Sorted once, properly.
